Gophers Secure Three Victories to Get Back to .500

In order, the Gophers (4-4) defeated Gwynedd-Mercy, Bryn Athyn and St. Elizabeth, each one 3-0.
In the 25-23, 25-19, 25-16 triumph over the Griffins (0-6), Megan Chalk (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) supplied the Gophers with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Tori Rain (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) was credited with 26 assists.
Chalk and Trish Kallis (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) both finished with 11 kills in the 25-8, 25-20, 25-15 win over the Lions (0-2). Rain led Goucher in assists with 28 and was co-leader along with Kristen Courage (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber) in digs with 15. Addie Lanzarotta (Los Angeles, Calif./Culver City) was in on a team-high six blocks.
The Gophers served a season-high total of 11 aces in the Bryn Athyn match and then duplicated that performance in pinning a 25-21, 25-11, 25-22 setback on the Screaming Eagles (1-4).
Ashley Fan (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) produced 25 digs in the St. Elizabeth match. With another 20 assists against the Screaming Eagles, Rain's total for the day was 84, which is an average of 9.33 per set.
