WESTMINSTER, Md. — Goucher took on a pair of opponents from the Centennial Conference this afternoon.
Despite a 14-kill, 12-dig effort out of junior outside hitter Megan Chalk (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park), the Gophers bowed to Muhlenberg, 3-0. They also suffered a 3-0 loss to McDaniel.
The Gophers were guilty of 14 attack errors, 11 service errors, six ball-handling errors and one reception error in their 25-16, 25-18, 25-14 loss to the Mules (8-3). Sarah Johnson (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) was credited with 23 assists and 10 digs in the three-set match.
The freshman setter compiled 24 assists and seven digs in the 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 setback to the Green Terror (4-6).
Tori Rain (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) supplied the Gophers (3-9) with nine digs and two block solos against McDaniel.
