Senior Setter Attains Milestone in Loss to Crusaders

READING, Pa. — By winning the third set, Goucher seemingly managed to right the ship after dropping the first two sets of tonight's match against Alvernia, both by two points.
But in the fourth set, the Crusaders regained control of the match, which they ended up winning, 3-1. Set scores were 25-23, 27-25, 21-25, 25-17.
The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for the Gophers, who once again dropped below .500.
Even in defeat, Sarah Johnson (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) reached a milestone, becoming only thie third player in the history of Goucher's volleyball program to reach 2,500 assists during her career. An assist she was awarded on a kill by Michelle Tweedie (Accra, Ghana/Lincoln Community School) on the 16th point for the Gophers in the fifth set was her 42nd of the match and raised her career total to exactly 2,500.
