Bio

Casey Burford is in her second year working as a women’s volleyball assistant coach on former teammate Maggie Catherina’s staff. Burford and Catherina played for two years on the women’s volleyball team at Rowan University.

Burford, who has been an admissions counselor for 2U since March 2018, was an assistant volleyball coach at Delaware State University (2017) and at Frostburg State (2015 and 2016) along with serving as a student assistant at Rowan (2015). She also served as a club volleyball coach and camp instructor with Delaware Juniors Volleyball (2013-18). 

Frostburg advanced to the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament first round in 2015 and two coached  an AVCA All-Mid Atlantic Region Team selection and two all-conference players.

Burford graduated in December 2014 from Rowan University with a bachelor's degree in education. She was a member of the Profs volleyball team from 2010-13 prior to serving as a student assistant coach from the spring of 2013 through the spring of 2015.
 
As a student-athlete, Burford was named Team Captain for both the 2012 and 2013 seasons, was selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Year in '13 and was an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)All-Academic selection that same year. She was a four-year Dean's List student while at Rowan and was the fundraising chair for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
 
In 2014, she helped coach the Profs to 16 wins that included an appearance in the NJAC Championship match.
 
She graduated from Rowan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education in 2014 and earned her Master of Education from Frostburg in 2017.
