Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw Places Seventh at Cathcart Invitational
SALISBURY, Md. - Goucher College women's cross country first year Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw (Bethesda, Md. / Cheverly STEM Education Center) placed seventh in a field of 83 runners as the Gophers competed at the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University at WinterPlace Park on Saturday.
Thornton-Fillyaw recorded a 6K time of 23:56.4, an improvement of over two minutes from her last time out on September 16. It marks Thornton-Fillyaw's second top-10 of the season as she finished second at the Chargers Invitational on September 16.
Sophomore Sophie O'Connor (Shorewood, Wisc./Shorewood) placed 24th with a time of 25:08.1, improving 1:41 from her last mark two weeks ago.
Reese Finnigan (Dallas, Texas/Grapevine) recorded a time of 28:10.8, while Maria James (Westminster, Md./Westminster) posted a mark of 29:40.0.
Goucher returns to action next Saturday, October 8, when it hosts the Coach Caslin Classic on campus.
