Thornton-Fillyaw Earns All-Region Honors at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Goucher College women's cross country sophomore Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors at Saturday's NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional with a 32nd place finish out of 204 runners. The meet was held at the West Branch Cross Country Course.
Thornton-Fillyaw ran the 6K race in a time of 22:29.4. The top 35 runners in each of 10 regions earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors. She was the seventh-fastest Landmark Conference finisher on the afternoon.
Women's first year Daya Sathyaraj placed 158th overall, checking in with a time of 26:14.0.
The men also had a pair of athletes competing. First year Jair Smith rank the 8K race in a time of 27:55.2 to come in 133rd in the field of 211. Classmate Sam Dylan was 177th with a time of 29:36.1.
