Gopher Cross Country Celebrated for Classroom Work by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS - The Goucher College men and women's cross country teams were each named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams for the 2023 season, it was announced on Thursday afternoon.
In addition, women's sophomore Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw was named an All-Acdemic Athlete.
In order to be recognized as an All-Academic Team, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the fall, 2023 semester. The Gopher men finished the fall with a 3.254 cumulative GPA, while the women checked in at 3.466.
Thornton-Fillyaw, an Environmental Studies major, was selected as an All-Acdemic Athlete. In order to be an All-Academic Athlete one must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective NCAA regional meet. Thornton-Fillyaw earned All-Region honors with her 32nd place finish at the Mid-Atlantic Regional in November.
