TOWSON, MD— Freshmen Isabelle Pardew of women’s swimming and Ogemdi Chukwu of men’s indoor track & field have been named the Goucher College Athletes of the Week following their performances on the road last Saturday.
Pardew led the Gophers against Susquehanna in a 164-82 loss, taking home first place in the 100 back (1:03.54) and second in the 200 back (2:18.36). Her time in the 200 back is a personal best here at Goucher.
Chukwu earned Athlete of the Week honors due to his record-breaking performance in the 60m hurdles at Susquehanna during the Orange & Maroon Classic. His time of 8.70 seconds sets a school record previously held by the freshman in his performance (8.76) at the River Hawk Opener in December.
The women’s swimming team is in action on Saturday at home when they take on Landmark foe, Drew University at 1PM. The Goucher College indoor track & field team competes in the George Mason University Patriot Games Saturday in Fairfax, VA.
