Athletic Training Room
Mission Statement
The Goucher College Sports Medicine department strives to provide the most comprehensive medical coverage for all intercollegiate athletes. Under the direction of the team physician, the certified athletic trainers provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses. In addition, the staff provides referrals to various health professionals necessary for the student-athletes to achieve and maintain their optimal levels of health, not only in their sports, but also in their daily lives.
Information
The athletic training room is located on the bottom floor of the Decker Sports and Recreation Center and is available for all varsity athletes. There are two full time certified athletic trainers on staff who provide care for 19 intercollegiate sports. The athletic training room also serves as a clinical site for Towson University’s undergraduate athletic training education program.
The athletic training staff at Goucher provides coverage for all team practices and contests. The student-athletes are responsible for scheduling evaluation and rehabilitation appointments as needed. All injuries must be reported to the staff in a timely manner so that we may provide proper care to each athlete. Athletes may not return to participation in their sport until they are cleared to do so by the athletic training staff or team physician. The hours of operation vary.
