Gophers Surpassed by the Colonels in Final Home Game

Towson, Md.- The Gophers (4-21 overall, 3-15 Lanmark) play their final conference game, at home, against the Colonels of Wilkes University (19-6 overall, 13-5 Landmark). It was senior night for Goucher and we honored our six members that have contributed to our program. After a close first half the Colonels maintained their lead through the second half clinching the win 85-68.
- John Dixon starts the scoring with a 3-point shot.
- Wilkes take the lead with (15:09) remaining.
- Gophers fend of the Colonels with shots by Darrell Green and Brian Griffin (7:41) left on the clock.
- Chima Egeonu makes five consecutive points tieing the game.
- Colonels make final shot with (0:05) left in the half taking the lead 42-40.
- Gophers start the half strong with a 2-point shot from David Nwankwo.
- Wilkes goes on a five point scoring streak stopped by Darnell Morris Jr. with (12:50) left in the game.
- Alex Miller assists Dixon for a 3-point shot chiping at the Colonels lead at (9:10).
- Colonels end the two minute scoring stalemate at (3:52) remaining.
- Wilkes maintains their lead through the half winning 85-68.
- Green was the highest scorer for the Gophers with 18 points and six rebounds.
- Dixon and Morris Jr. tie for the second highest scorers with 11 points.
- Gophers shot 46.4% overall, and went 9-27 beyond the arc. They shot 70% from the free throw line and completed 29 rebounds.
- Goucher forced eight turnovers resulting in ten points.
- Wilkes shot 47.2% overall, and went 4-18 beyond the arc. They shot 78.4% from the free throw line and completed 36 rebounds.
- Colonels forced 16 turnovers resulting in 12 points.
