Back-to-Back Games at Homewood Field SundayFebruary 21, 2007
TOWSON, MD — Both of Goucher's lacrosse teams were
originally scheduled to launch their 2007 seasons this coming
weekend in Gopher Stadium — the men against Greensboro on
Saturday and the women against Endicott the following day.
Those two contests will still take place, but with snow and thick
ice still covering the playing field inside Gopher Stadium, they
have been moved to Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins and will be
played as a doubleheader on Sunday.
The women's game against Endicott is still slated to begin at
noon, followed at approximately 2:30 by the men's contest against
Greensboro.
"We hate to give up playing even one game in our stadium, but at
the same time, both of our teams are anxious to get their seasons
under way," said Geoff Miller, Goucher's athletics director. "We're
very grateful to Johns Hopkins for allowing the use of its
excellent facility and hope this tremendous relationship we have
developed with them will continue for many years."
