MADISON, N.J. - Despite a number of scoring chances, Goucher wasn't able to capitalize on any of them today and as a result suffered a 3-0 loss to Drew in the inaugural Landmark Conference game for both teams.
Between the two teams, there were only four shots on goal in the entire first half, but the only goal in the opening 45:00 was scored by Drew's Bobby Sprengle in the 43rd minute.
Less than 10 minutes into the second half, the Rangers (5-2, 1-0 Landmark) struck again, building their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Greg Zizik. The goal was set up by a cross served by Sprengle.
There were only :03 showing on the clock when Shahryar Schroff tallied the final goal of the contest.
The Rangers finished with a 16-8 edge in shots, but the Gophers (3-5, 0-1 Landmark) held the upper hand in corner kicks, 7-3.
