Gophers Edged on Early Second Half Goal

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Host Moravian University scored the lone goal of the game 3:31 into the second half to down Goucher College 1-0 in Landmark Conference men's soccer Wednesday evening at John Makuvek Field.

• Goucher's (4-5-2, 0-3 Landmark) Michael Adekanmbi had the first shot of the game two minutes in.
• Anthony Ketelsen put a shot on goal in the 17th minute that was saved by Moravian (6-2-3, 2-0-1) keeper Casey Prajzner.
• Gopher goalie Ale Sternini made his first save of the game just past the 20-minute mark.
• Sternini recorded another save with 12 minutes to go in the half.
• Just over a minute later, a Will Frasier shot was turned aside by Prajzner.

• Ketelsen put another shot on frame two minutes into the second half, with Prajzner making the save.
• Vito Leone scored for the Greyhounds in the 49th minute with Max Teneza and Guiseppe Propato assisting.
• Two minutes later Sternini registered a save on a shot by Ben Scary.
• Andres Aristimuno and Adekanmbi had shots a minute apart that were both saved in the 56th and 57th minutes.
• Prajzner made another save on a shot by Harryson Jean in the 66th minute.
• Jonathan Alvarado had Goucher's last shot with just under two minutes left, with Prajzner making his final save of the evening.

• Moravian took two more shots than Goucher, with the final total 16-14, while the Gophers took seven corner kicks to the Greyhounds' six.
• Sternini recorded five saves, while Prajzner recorded seven stops en route to the shutout.
• Adekanmbi led the Gophers with four shots, while Alvarado had three.
• Moravian won its third in a row and is 5-0-1 in its last six outings.

• Goucher remains on the road Saturday, traveling to the University of Scranton for a 3:30 Landmark Conference matchup.
• The Gophers return home Wednesday, October 16, entertaining Susquehanna at 7 pm at Beldon Field.
