Goucher Posts 18 Points in the Landmark Championships

HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Goucher turned in two top-5 individual performances during the final day of the 2016 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships today.
- Miles Taylor (Bowie, Md./Wakefield (Va.)) placed third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of :15.93. Taylor's clocked time is a new program record, breaking his previous record-setting time of :16.29 at the Mason-Dixon Invitational. The freshman also added two more points for the Gophers with a seventh place finish (:1:02.69) in the 400m hurdles.
- Elton Kativhu (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. Ignatius College) ran a time of :11.35 in the 100-meter dash, placing seventh within the conference.
- With a jump of 1.83 meters, Ayinde Gittens-Smith (Laurel, Md./Fork Union Military Academy (Va.)) notched a seventh place finish in the high jump.
- The 4 x 100 entry of Eli Schwartz (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley), Gittens-Smith, Taylor and Kativhu scored four points for Goucher with a fifth place finish (:46.61).
- Made up of Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton), John Gyimesi (Malvern, Pa./Montana Academy (Mont.)), Taylor and Schwartz, the foursome posted a time of 3:53.82 in the 4 x 400-meter relay, good for seventh place.
Goucher finished the Championships with 18 points, landing the team in seventh place.
