Gophers Edged by Phoenix 16-15

TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Wilson College held off Goucher College for a 16-15 non-conference women's lacrosse victory Wednesday afternoon at Beldon Field.
- Goucher (1-3) jumped out to a 3-0 lead just under seven minutes into the game.
- Molly Smith scored back-to-back goals at 13:57 and 9:39, and Emily Burk scored at the 8:17 mark on a feed from Camden West.
- Wilson (2-0) reeled off four straight goals to build a 4-0 lead after one quarter.
- Burk tied the game with a man-up tally with 10:21 remaining before halftime.
- After a goal by the Phoenix just over a minute later, Katherine Luetgens tied the game 5-5 at the 6:08 mark.
- Wilson scored twice in a span of 45 seconds to take a 7-5 lead with 4:27 left.
- Makayla Batts scored a free-position goal with nine seconds left to cut the lead to 7-6 at intermission.
- Wilson upped the lead to 8-6 36 seconds into the quarter.
- West scored at the 10:33 mark before a man-up goal by Smith at 9:46 tied the game 8-8.
- The Phoenix scored twice in a minute span to go up 10-8 with 7:35 left.
- Bailey Schneeman and Batts scored 41 seconds apart to tie the game 10-10 with 5:44 on the clock.
- The visitors scored the final three goals of the quarter to build a 13-10 lead with 15 minutes to go.
- Burk scored just over a minute into the fourth to cut the lead to 13-11.
- A Smith free-position at 12:07 made it a 13-12 contest.
- Wilson responded with two straight goals 18 seconds apart to up its lead to 15-12 with 9:50 left.
- Back-to-back goals by Luetgens at 4:10 and 2:08 again made it a one-goal game, 15-14.
