LANCASTER, Pa. – Goucher College falls 2-0 against Franklin & Marshall in the first meeting between the two teams in 13 years in non-conference women'soccer action on Saturday.
Christina Charikofsky (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) made eight saves for the Gophers in the loss.
Alyssa Hodnik (Pittsburgh, Pa./Kiski Area) (20th minute), Lily Shaffer (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) (21st minute) and Finley Lindsey (Gilbert, Ariz./Hamilton) (32nd minute each had shots stopped in the first half.
Rylee McDonnell (Estell Manor, N.J./Ocean City) missed high in the 79th minute and Hodnik had her second shot of the afternoon turned away in the 89th minute in the second half.
The Diplomats scored a goal in each half including converting a penalty kick in the second half to earn the victory.
Goucher returns to action on Tuesday when the squad hosts Alvernia. Game time is 7 p.m.
