BALTIMORE, Md. – Goucher College lost to Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference women's soccer action on Saturday.
Prior to the match, the Gophers honored seniors Rebecca Hallameyer (Freeland, Md./Hereford), Gracie LeFevre (Glenwood, Md./Glenelg) and Dani Sweet (Hallowell, Maine/Hall-Dale) for their hard work and dedication to Goucher College and the women's soccer program for the last four years.
Christina Charikofsky (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) made nine saves for the Gophers while Megan Kelleher (Lafayette, N.J./High Point Regional) and Lily Shaffer (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) each had three shots on the afternoon.
Kelleher had a shot stopped in the seventh minute while Shaffer had a shot turned away in the 14th minute. Kelleher posted a shot blocked in the 55th minute before Emerson Jewart's (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) header was turned away in the 71st minute. Kelleher had a shot blocked by the defense again in the 83rd minute and Shaffer had her shot stopped in the 88th minute.
Hallameyer has appeared in 19 games in her career including 10 in her senior campaign and has six career shots. She notched the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win against Notre Dame University of Maryland on September 24.
Sweet, who had a nice defensive team save in the game on Saturday, has appeared in 52 games including 23 starts with nine shots in her career including starting 17 games in 2019.
LeFevre, an all-conference second-team selection last season, has appeared in 62 matches including 38 starts and has posted four goals and three assists for 11 points on 38 shots in her career. The senior had a career-high three tallies for six points in 2018.
Elizabethtown scored twice in the first half and once in the second half to earn a 3-0 win.
Goucher concludes its 2019 campaign on November 2 at Moravian College. Match time is 4 p.m.
