Golden Wolves Blank Gophers 2-0

READING, Pa. - Alvernia University scored a pair of first half goals as the Golden Wolves blanked Goucher College 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer Wednesday evening at Alvernia Turf Field.  The Gophers suffered their first defeat of the season.

• Goucher's (2-1-3) first shot on goal came eight minutes in as a Hanna Rogers shot was stopped by Alvernia (1-5-1) goalie Brynn Bock.
• The Golden Wolves took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute on a tally by Macy McDonough.
• Tatyana Jimenez put a shot on goal in the 32nd minute that Bock turned aside.
• Gianna Ordanoff extended the AU lead to 2-0 with just over two minutes to go in the half.

• Goucher's Madison Gutierrez stopped a Haley Dougherty shot four minutes into the second half.
• A Carly Stevens shot on a restart in the 60th minute was turned aside by Bock.
• Bock recorded another save on a shot by Belle St. Jean with 18 minutes remaining.
• Grace Uhler had Goucher's final shot on frame in the 76th minute that Bock made a save on.

• Goucher outshot Alvernia 14-8, while the Golden Wolves held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
• Bock registered five shots, while Gutierrez was credited with one save.
• Jimenez led the Gophers with three shots, two on frame.

• Goucher opens Landmark Conference play on Saturday, traveling to league newcomer Lycoming for a 3:30 contest.
• The Gophers return home on Tuesday, September 26, entertaining Neumann in a 7 pm non-league match at Beldon Field.
