Litwin Notches First Goal, Gophers Pick Up 3-1 Win at Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. - Visiting Goucher College got goals from three different players, including the first collegiate goal from first year Madison Litwin, as the Gophers posted a 3-1 non-conference women's soccer victory at Lancaster Bible College at Donald H. Funk Field Wednesday evening.

• Carly Stevens had the first shot of the game for Goucher (4-5-7) in the 17th minute that was saved by Lancaster Bible (9-6-2) goalie Kari Anne Mecke.
• Just over a minute later the Chargers were awarded a penalty kick that Kendal Ream converted to put the hosts up 1-0.
• With just over five minutes remaining in the first half, Cassidy Scott scored for the Gophers to tie the game 1-1.
• Hanna Rogers lifted a pass into the box that was collected by Scott.  She took a touch and fired it past Mecke for her third goal of the season.
• Litwin scored 18 seconds before halftime to give the Gophers a 2-1 lead.
• Litwin headed home a left-to-right corner kick off the foot of Tatyana Jimenez for her first collegiate goal.

• Rogers and Jimenez put shots on goal a minute into the second half that Mecke turned aside.
• With just under 25 minutes to play, a Jimenez goal made it 3-1.
• A long cross from the right side was knocked away by Mecke, but right to Jimenez, who knocked it in for her fourth goal of the campaign.
• Jordan Wood had a pair of shots blocked with 15 minutes to play.

• Goucher held a 13-2 shot advantage on the night and took all six of the game's corner kicks.
• Jimenez led the Gophers with six shots.
• Madison Gutierrez and Marissa Spacht each played a half in goal for Goucher and did not make a save en route to the win.  Mecke recorded five saves before being relieved by Morgan Sendgikoski.
• Goucher snapped a four-game Charger win streak in the series, as the last Gopher win came in 2012.  LBC was a 1-0 winner over Goucher in 2021 and 2022.

• Goucher travels to Wilkes on Saturday for a 3:30 Landmark Conference contest.
