Gophers Close Season With 1-1 Tie at Wilkes

EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. - Visiting Goucher College and host Wilkes University each scored in the second half as the two teams played to a 1-1 tie in their respective season finales Saturday afternoon at Bruggeworth Field.

• Erica Feese had a shot for Wilkes (3-6-7, 1-4-4 Landmark) that was saved by Goucher (4-5-8, 0-4-5) goalie Madison Gutierrez in the sixth minute.
• Carly Stevens had Goucher's first shot on goal in the ninth minute that was stopped by Colonel keeper Hannah Landis.
• Tatyana Jimenez had a shot saved by Landis with 20 minutes to go in the half.
• Gutierrez made a save on a Jess Shea bid in the 32nd minute.
• Gutierrez made one final save in the first half five minutes before intermission.

• Wilkes had a pair of shots go off the crossbar in the first five minutes of the second stanza.
• Jimenez had a shot turned aside eight minutes in.
• With just under 16 minutes to play Cassidy Scott scored her fourth goal of the season to put the Gophers up 1-0.
• Stevens slipped a low free kick through the box that found Scott on the far left post and she knocked it in to put the Gophers in front.
• Goucher found itself a man down after a red card with just over 11 minutes remaining.
• Feese scored with 10 minutes left to tie the game 1-1.
• Gutierrez made a save with five minutes to go.
• Jordan Wood and Madison Ybarra had back-to-back shots on goal saved by Landis with three minutes left.
• Gutierrez made one final save with 1:53 on the clock.

• Wilkes held a 28-7 shot advantage and took seven of the game's 10 corner kicks.
• Gutierrez recorded eight saves, while Landis recorded five stops.
• Jimenez led the Gophers with a pair of shots.
• Goucher's eight ties are a program record.
