Gophers Edge Albright, Extend Unbeaten Streak to Five

TOWSON, Md. - Becca Maddox converted a penalty kick late in the first half and Olivia Jackson made three saves in her first collegiate start in goal as the Goucher College women's soccer team edged Albright College 1-0 in non-conference action Wednesday evening at Beldon Field.
- Goucher's (3-4-3) Abby Lee had the first shot of the game five minutes in that was saved by Albright (1-6-1) goalie McKenna LeVan.
- LeVan had a save on a Reagan Hunt header two minutes later.
- Jackson made her first save of the game in the 28th minute on a shot by Audrey Solt.
- With just under 10 minutes left in the first half, the Gophers were awarded a penalty kick, which Maddox buried for a 1-0 lead.
- Jordan Wood had a shot on target with two minutes left that was stopped by LeVan.
- Jackson made a save on a Daiveni Fisher bid six minutes into the second stanza.
- Moments later the Lions generated back-to-back corner kicks.
- Grace Uhler put a paid of shots on goal in the final 15 minutes for Goucher with both turned aside by LeVan.
- Jackson recorded her final save on a Mackenzie Sowers shot with 10 minutes left.
- Goucher held a 13-10 shot advantage on the night as it extended its unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2)
- Albright posted a 5-3 lead in corner kicks.
- Jackson, making her first career start, registered three saves, while LeVan made seven stops.
- Lee and Maddox recorded three shots apiece to lead Goucher.
- The Gophers posted their third shutout of the season.
