Juniata Snaps Gophers' Unbeaten Streak

HUNTINGTON, Pa. - Juniata College snapped Goucher College's five-match unbeaten streak as it edged the Gophers 1-0 in Landmark Conference women's soccer Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.

• Becca Maddox had the first shot of the game for Goucher (3-5-3, 0-1-1 Landmark) just over eight minutes in.
• In the 15th minute, Gopher keeper Madison Gutierrez made a save on a shot by Juniata's (8-1-2, 2-0) Alyssa Bui.
• Gutierrez made another save just past the 20-minute mark.
• Jordan Wood had her shot in the 25th minute saved by Eagle keeper Sarah Betts.
• Gutierrez made two more saves in the half, the last coming with seven minutes to go.
• Wood had another shot stopped by Betts with just over three minutes left before the break.

• Olivia Rodriguez scored for Juniata just over four minutes into the second half.
• A minute later, Gutierrez made a save on an Amelia Yordy bid.
• The Eagles had a pair of corner kicks with just under seven minutes to go.

• Juniata outshot Goucher 13-3 and took eight corner kicks to the Gophers' one.
• Gutierrez made five saves, while Betts recorded a pair of stops en route to the shutout.
• Goucher suffered its first loss since September 14 against Eastern and has been 3-0-2 in its last five contests.

• Goucher returns home on Wednesday evening when it hosts Moravian University in a 7 pm Landmark Conference contest at Beldon Field.
