Gutierrez Makes Career-High 11 Saves in 0-0 Draw With Moravian

TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College sophomore goalkeeper Madison Gutierrez made a career-high 11 saves en route to her second shutout of the season as the Gophers forged a 0-0 Landmark Conference women's soccer tie against Moravian University Wednesday night at Beldon Field.
- Goucher's (3-5-4, 0-1-2 Landmark) Becca Maddox had a shot blocked 30 seconds into the game.
- At the one-minute mark, Gutierrez made her first save of the game on a shot by Moravian's (6-2-4, 1-0-2) Carly Pyatt.
- Pyatt had three more shots in the next 15 minutes, two of which were saved by Gutierrez and one was blocked.
- Gutierrez made four more saves the rest of the half.
- In the 38th minute, Michelle Ruano-Campos had a shot turned aside by Greyhound goalkeeper Riley Spingler.
- Three minutes later, Spingler made another save, this one on Grace Uhler.
- Gutierrez recorded three saves in the first eight-plus minutes of the second half.
- With just under eight minutes to go, Spingler made a save on a shot by Jordan Wood.
- Two minutes later, Gutierrez made her final stop of the night on another Pyatt shot.
- Maddox had a shot blocked with just over a minute to go.
- Moravian took 22 shots to Goucher's six and had a 10-1 lead in corner kicks.
- Gutierrez's 11 saves surpassed her previous career high of nine set twice this season.
- Spingler notched three saves for the shutout for the Greyhounds.
- Maddox led Goucher with three shots.
- Goucher is 3-1-3 in its last seven games.
- Goucher hits the road Saturday, traveling to the University of Scranton for a 1 pm Landmark Conference match.
- The Gophers are back home next Saturday, October 19, hosting Drew University in a 1 pm conference contest as part of Goucher's Blue & Gold Weekend festivities.
