SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Sophomore Madison Gutierrez of the Goucher College women's soccer team matched her career high with 11 saves, but the Gophers were downed 4-0 by Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference play at Sassafras Field Wednesday evening.
- Gutierrez made her first save of the game for Goucher (3-7-4, 0-3-2 Landmark) four minutes in.
- The River Hawks (5-7-2, 1-3-1) got on the board on a Chloe Michaels goal in the 10th minute.
- Guterrez made saves on Mary Grace Duncan in the 14th and 18th minutes.
- Jordan Wood had back-to-back shots for the Gophers in the 35th minute.
- Grace Uhler put a shot on goal for Goucher 2:14 before halftime that was turned aside by SU goalie Katie Henchy.
- Gutierrez made her first save of the second half four minutes in.
- Sydney Williams made it 2-0 for the hosts just past the 61-minute mark.
- The River Hawks struck again with nine minutes left on a Olivia Haines goal.
- Maesie Baker closed out the River Hawk scoring in the 86th minute.
- Susquehanna outshot Goucher 27-4 and took all six of the game's corner kicks.
- Gutierrez's 11 saves matched her career high set last Wednesday against Moravian, while Henchy made one save in posting the shutout.
- Becca Maddox also had a shot for the Gophers.
- Goucher returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Drew University in a 1 pm Landmark Conference contest at Beldon Field.
