Brown Qualifies for the 96th Maryland Open Championship
On Wednesday May 24th, head golf coach Hunter Brown successfully qualified for the Maryland Open in a qualifying event at Queenstown Harbor Golf Links in Queenstown, Maryland.
QUEENSTOWN, Md., -- On Wednesday, May 24th, head golf coach Hunter Brown successfully qualified for the Maryland Open in a qualifying event at Queenstown Harbor Golf Links in Queenstown, Maryland.
This year will mark the 96th playing of the Maryland Open, an event that began in 1921 and served as an event on the PGA Tour for a brief period of time after its inception. Brown shot an even par 72 on the day to finish in a tie for second and he garnered one of the 18 available qualifying spots (full results here: http://msga.org/2017/05/25/amateuropen-qualifier-at-queenstown-results/).
Brown commented, "I was pleased with how I played and it's exciting to now have a spot in the Maryland Open. It is undoubtedly one of the very best events in Maryland and I will be honored to be a part of it."
This year's Maryland Open will be held July 10-12th at Woodholme Country Club in Pikesville, MD. "I've seen the course and it's really good. It is definitely a classic championship venue and I'm sure they will have it in peak condition for the event," Brown added.
