Bull Earns a Spot on the All-Goucher First Team
Junior Briana Bull (Baltimore, Md.) has been named to the All-Goucher First Team following a stellar individual season for the Gophers.
TOWSON, Md. – Junior Briana Bull (Baltimore, Md.) has been named to the All-Goucher First Team following a stellar individual season for the Gophers.
Bull was named the Landmark Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year and designated as an All-Conference First Team honoree following a year where she bombarded the record book. Bull led the team in points per game (20.6), rebounds per game (11.5) and steals per game (3.9) over the course of the 2016-17 season. Overall in the Landmark Conference, she finished second in points per game, second in rebounds per game and first in steals per game.
In addition to being ranked highly in the conference, Bull made her presence known on the national scale with the following rankings: second in field goal attempts (555), eighth in field goals made (209), eighth in steals (98), 10th in defensive rebounds per game (9.0), 12th in steals per game (3.92), 16th in double-doubles (16), 19th in total points (511) and 24th in points per game (20.4).
The Gophers finished the season with a 4-20 record overall and a 0-14 record in Landmark Conference play.
Bull entered her third season at Goucher with 664 total points in her career, but posted a career-best 495 points over the course of the season to surpass 1,000 points. Her 1,000th points came in a battle against Moravian College at home where she tallied 29 points, 10 rebounds and five steals while covering the Landmark Conference top-scorer, Camille McPherson.
Bull ended the season with 1,159 career points, ranking her sixth all-time at Goucher College, and is 274 points behind Goucher College Hall of Famer, Betsy Weingarten '88, with 1,433 points. Goucher's all-time scoring leader is Corene "Renie" Amoss '93, who scored 2,220 points while at Goucher.
Bull also notched 213 assists and 221 steals. Her standard in steal ranks third all-time at Goucher.
The All-Goucher Team is selected by a panel of athletic administrators and represents the 10 most distinguished student-athletes and most outstanding coach during an academic year. The All-Goucher team was established in 2010-11 and is selected annually.
