Head women’s soccer coach, Tati Korba, will be moving on from Goucher prior to the 2017 season.
TOWSON, Md. – Head women's soccer coach, Tati Korba, will be moving on from Goucher prior to the 2017 season.
Korba, the sixth head women's soccer coach at Goucher since 1989, won 71 games over her 12-year career with the Gophers – the most in school history. She will assume the position of head women's soccer coach at Stevenson University on July 3, 2017.
"I am so thankful for the time I have spent at Goucher, and I cannot possibly express my gratitude to all of the players that I have coached over the years," said Korba. "Reflecting back on my twelve years fills me with happiness for the fond memories and most of all, appreciation for the alumni, coaches, players, recruits, administrators and parents that I have had the sincere privilege of working with and knowing. I would also like to thank Geoff Miller for his guidance and leadership over the years, and also thank my colleagues and fellow coaches in the Athletic Department for their friendship and support."
In 2012, Korba guided the Gophers to a 12-4-2 record, tying the school record for most wins in a season. It also marked the third-consecutive year in which the team had surpassed the win total from the previous year. Goucher competed for a playoff spot in the highly-competitive Landmark Conference right up to the final weekend that fall, and the Gophers have continued to be playoff contenders in each of the last three campaigns.
Korba has led the Gophers during all nine seasons in the Landmark. During that time the team has produced 15 all-conference selections (three First-Team, 12 Second-Team) as well as 2011 Rookie of the Year, Sherlanda Buskey.
Athletic Director, Geoff Miller was quoted, "Tati Korba has done a marvelous job of building our women's soccer program. When she arrived twelve years ago we had low roster numbers and were not competitive. Through her hard work and determination we now have a full roster of talented and athletic soccer players who compete consistently in one of the most rigorous conferences in Division III. I am so grateful for her efforts over the years, and wish her and her family the very best in their future."

"I am confident that the Women's Soccer Program at Goucher is strong, and there is a tremendous group of players and leaders who are returning and a talented group of recruits coming in this fall," stated Korba. "I wish nothing but the absolute best and continued success for this program and the Goucher Athletic Department."
