Phillips Named to Landmark Conference All-Decade Team
Goucher College’s Destiny Phillips has been named to the Landmark Conference 10th Anniversary All-Decade Team in the sport of Women’s Indoor Track & Field.
TOWSON, MD – Goucher College’s Destiny Phillips has been named to the Landmark Conference 10th Anniversary All-Decade Team in the sport of Women’s Indoor Track & Field.
Phillips, who participated on the Goucher Women's Track & Field Teams in 2011-12, was named the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year. The first-year performer was directly, or at least partially responsible for, 48 points the Gophers scored at the 2012 championship meet. She placed first in the 60-meter hurdles, second in the 60-meter dash, third in the 400-meter dash, fourth in the long jump and fifth in the 200-meter dash.
In addition to aiding the team, Phillips set three school records at that meet: 60m hurdles (9.09), 400m dash (1:02.03) and long jump (5.26m).
The All-Decade team was selected by the membership of the Landmark Conference and is announced prior to the conference championship. Athletes that were named All-Conference First Team a minimum of two times, and/or were named Landmark Player of the Year, during their career were nominated automatically, and each team had the opportunity to nominate additional individuals for consideration.
