2022-23 All-Goucher Second Team
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College athletic department recently announced its 2022-23 All-Goucher Team. The All-Goucher Team, established in 2010-11, is selected by a panel of coaches and administrators and represents the 10 most distunguished athletes and most outstanding coach during an academic year.
The All-Goucher Team First Team will be profiled later this week.
Comprising the 2022-23 All-Goucher Team Second Team:
Carter Hinton-Ayodele, sophomore, women's track and field (Bowie, Md./Bowie)
Hinton-Ayodele qualified for the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the triple jump for the second straight year with a jump of 11.90 meters at the ECAC Division III Championships. A Landmark Second Team All-Conference performer in the triple jump in both the indoor and outdoor seasons after finishing second at the conference meet, Hinton-Ayodele also earned USTFCCCA All-Region accolades in the triple jump for both indoor and outdoor track and field.
Adrian Mubiru, senior, men's soccer (Riverdale Park, Md. / International HS at Langley Park)
Mubiru was a Landmark Conference Second Team All-Conference selection for the Gophers as he anchored a defense that helped Goucher earn the No. 3 seed in the Landmark Conference tournament and earn the program's first ECAC berth. He started all but one game for the Gophers, who recorded their most victories (10) in a season since 1992.
Natalia Navarro, first year, women's tennis (Francisco Morazan, Honduras / Del Campo School)
Navarro earned Landmark Second Team All-Conference honors for the Gophers in both singles and doubles. She played primarily No. 1 singles for the Gophers and finished at 9-7 overall, including 3-3 in Landmark play. In doubles, she and Eliza Abady were 4-2 in the conference and 6-6 overall, splitting time between No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Calis Nguyen, sophomore, men's tennis (Houston, Texas / School of the Woods)
Nguyen earned Landmark First Team All-Conference in doubles and was Second Team in singles as the Gophers reached the conference final. Playing primarily at No. 2, Nguyen finished 6-1 in conference play in singles and 9-9 in dual match action overall. In doubles, he and Jackson Beam were 6-1 in conference play and 8-11 overall this season playing at No. 1.
Kellen Sullivan, junior, equestrian (Hampton, Va. / Donald Sullivan)
Sullivan placed sixth at IHSA nationals in Team Intermediate Flat to help Goucher to an eighth-place finish in 2023. He was also the IHSA Zone IV champion in Team Intermediate Flat.
