Bio

Javin Dodd was named Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Goucher in December, 2021 after serving in the role in an acting capacity since October of that year.

Dodd came to Goucher in January, 2021, joining the Goucher track and field staff as an assistant coach.   He works primarily with the Gopher jumpers and has also overseen the team’s strength and conditioning program.

Prior to Goucher Dodd served as a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Alabama, where he worked with the Crimson Tide football, track and field and tennis teams.  From 2012-17 Dodd was enlisted as a member of the U.S. Army based out of El Paso, Texas.

Dodd was a Division I track athlete at the University of South Alabama from 2007-11.  He was a two-time All-American for the Jaguars and remains the program record holder in the long jump.

Dodd earned his bachelor’s at the University of Alabama in Kinesiology in 2012 before going on to earn his Master’s in Kinesiology at UA in 2019.  He is finishing work on a second Master’s in Sports Management/Coaching from West Virginia University with completion expected in December, 2021.
