Landmark Reveals All-Academic Team for Fall 2009
MADISON, N.J. The Landmark Conference today announced the names of the 32 student-athletes who make up the 2009 Fall Landmark All-Academic Team, which recognizes two male and two female athletes who have excelled athletically and academically from each of the eight Landmark institutions.

Landmark Conference Issues Academic Honor Roll
MADISON, N.J. The Landmark Conference, which is in its third year of competition and is comprised of eight like-minded institutions in the mid-Atlantic region, today recognized 369 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the on the 2009 Fall Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Forty of the honorees are from Goucher.

Gophers Conclude Season with 3-1 Loss to Royals
SCRANTON, Pa. Goucher pulled into a 1-1 tie with Scranton this afternoon when Mary Cadwallender (Fredericksburg, Va./The Madeira School) tallied her fourth goal of the season 13:23 into the second half of the Landmark Conference contest. But the Royals answered with a pair of goals just :44 apart later in the period and pulled out a 3-1 triumph over head coach Warren Prestwich's Gophers.

Yellow Jackets Pin Stinging 3-0 Setback on Gophers
TOWSON, Md. Goucher trailed Randolph-Macon by just a goal at the start of the second half tonight before the Yellow Jackets tacked on two additional goals on the way to a 3-0 victory over the Gophers.

Greyhounds Make 1-0 Lead Stand Up for Final 49:29
TOWSON, Md. It was raining everything but goals today on Beldon Field as Goucher and Moravian were squaring off in Landmark Conference action. Although they were limited to five shots the entire contest, the Greyhounds came out on top, 1-0.

Mustangs Prevail in Second Round of Strokes
TOWSON, Md. If Goucher could have capitalized on just one more of the scoring opportunities it was presented during regulation or the 13-6 advantage in shots it enjoyed during the two overtime periods, today's game against Stevenson would have never even made it to penalty strokes. It eventually took two full round of strokes to determine a winner: Stevenson, 2-1.

Ungar, Miller Preside Over Dedication Ceremonies
TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's intercollegiate athletic teams, along with many of the institution's club and intramural sports programs, have been practicing and playing on the new synthetic turf and under the lights at Beldon Field for more than a month, and today many of the people that made these improvements possible were recognized at halftime of a Landmark Conference women's soccer game between the Gophers and Susquehanna.

Two-Goal Deficit at Half Balloons to 7-0 Final
SELINSGROVE, Pa. Goucher surrendered two goals on eight shots in the first half this afternoon, but that was just a harbinger of things to come. In the second period, Susquehanna unleashed a total of 15 shots and tacked on five more goals to secure a 7-0 Landmark Conference victory over head coach Warren Prestwich's Gophers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Goucher and Catholic were locked in a scoreless tie at the conclusion of regulation today, even though the Cardinals used the 70 minutes to build up a 23-0 advantage in shots.

Rangers Never Trail in 5-1 Win Over Gophers
TOWSON, Md. A penalty stroke by Mary Cadwallender (Fredericksburg, Va./The Madeira School) got Goucher on the scoreboard 11:23 into the second half, but the two goalies who got into the game for Drew didn't allow anything else past them as the Rangers handed the Gophers a 5-1 Landmark Conference loss today on Beldon Field.

Koziel Moves Up on All-Time Defensive Saves List
TOWSON, Md. Even with Barb Koziel (Holland, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) making a pair of defensive saves for Goucher tonight, Washington (Md.) was able to find enough goals out of a total of 15 shots to record a 3-0 triumph over the Gophers at Beldon Field.

Gophers Bow to Two-Time Defending Champs, 5-1
TOWSON, Md. Goucher's best scoring chances against Juniata today came after the two-time defending Landmark Conference champions had already assumed a 5-0 lead. The Gophers finally broke through, getting on the scoreboard on a goal by Allison Metzger (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) with 14:18 left to play that made the final score 5-1 in favor of the Eagles.

Bobcats Never Trail in 3-1 Victory Over Gophers
FROSTBURG, Md. Goucher overcame a 1-0 deficit against Frostburg St. by scoring a goal 10:24 into the second half. But less than two minutes later, the Bobcats had regained the lead and were on their way to a 3-1 triumph over the visiting Gophers.

FREDERICK, Md. Goucher went from being one goal ahead to one goal behind in a span of just over three minutes late in the first half today and when neither team was able to score in the second half, Hood had its first victory of the season, a 2-1 triumph over head coach Warren Prestwich's Gophers.
