Landmark Reveals All-Academic Team for Fall 2010
MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference today announced the names of the 32 student-athletes who make up the 2010 Fall Landmark All-Academic Team, which recognizes two male and two female athletes who have excelled athletically and academically from each of the eight Landmark institutions.

Raffo Earns Promotion After Two Years as Assistant
TOWSON, Md. — Whitney Raffo sufficiently impressed her superiors during her two seasons as an assistant coach with Goucher College's field hockey program that she was offered the head position when it became open following the recently completed 2010 campaign. The 2008 graduate of the University of Iowa quickly accepted the offer and has been appointed head coach on an interim basis, it was announced today by Director of Athletics Geoffrey Miller.

Landmark Conference Issues Fall Academic Honor Roll
MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference, which is in its fourth year of competition and is comprised of eight like-minded institutions in the mid-Atlantic region, today recognized 273 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the on the 2010 Fall Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Twenty-nine of the honorees are from Goucher.

Gophers, Royals Go OT to Decide Fifth Place
TOWSON, Md. — It took longer than 70 minutes to determine the winner between Goucher and Scranton in today's battle for fifth place in the Landmark Conference. The two teams were locked in a 1-1 tie when time expired in the second half, but just 1:19 into overtime, Kaitlyn Tirney's unassisted goal provided the Royals with an immediate 2-1 victory.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. Goucher's Micki Manheimer (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) made 15 saves through 70 minutes of regulation and two 15-minute overtime periods this afternoon, matching her career-high for a single game, but the junior goalie's day was still not over. That's because the Gophers were remained locked in a 2-2 tie with Moravian in a Landmark Conference game.

Gophers Suffer 1-0 Setback to Crusaders
TOWSON, Md. — Despite being outshot 15-1 in the opening 35 minutes, Goucher made it to halftime today against Susquehanna still locked in a scoreless tie. It wasn't until the second half, when the Gophers had a 6-4 advantage in shots, that the Crusaders put one of their four shots in the net to earn a 1-0 Landmark Conference victory.
