Baltimore, MD – Goucher’s field hockey team jumped all over the visiting Mighty Macs from Immaculata College today on Bedlon Field, coming away with an efficient 4-1 victory. The victory improves the Gophers record to 6-5 on the season. The Mighty Macs drop to 5-7 overall.
Four different players scored for the Gophers as they surged out to a 4-0 lead before Immaculata scored at the 46 minute mark of the second half. Goucher led, 1-0, at the half on a goal from junior Olivia Dickert (Montville, NJ) coming off an assistant from sophomore Maya Belin (Baltimore, MD) at 20:21. Beginning at the 41:04 mark in the second half, Goucher scored a flurry of goals. They came from three players from California, sophomore Jackie Juarez (Glendora, CA), junior Kristen Shklanko (Huntington Beach, CA) and senior Lizzie Barminski (Ventura, CA) and were all scored within a span of 91 seconds. The first two goals were assisted: the first from senior Rachel Crain (Charlotte Hall, MD) on Suarez’s goal, and the second from senior Annie Carter (Ann Arbor, MI) on Shklanko’s.
