BALTIMORE, MD. - Coming off of a back-to-back game on Saturday, the Gophers travelled to Homewood Stadium to face the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays on Sunday, eventually falling 2 -1 in overtime.
Goucher scored first in the match, with senior Rachel Crain taking a pass from junior Kristen Shklanko and putting it into the back of the goal. Hopkins also scored in the first half and the two teams battled to a scoreless second half which led to overtime.
The Gophers put pressure on the Blue Jays in overtime, securing several shots and penalty corners, but just couldn't convert, eventually falling in the final moments of the first overtime period.
Freshman goalkeeper, Megan Wells, recorded 11 saves on the day in her first official start.
