Caitlin Walker Named Assistant Coach for Field Hockey Program
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College field hockey head coach Megan Williams has announced that Caitlin Walker has been hired as by the programs as the Gophers' new assistant coach, effective immediately.
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College field hockey head coach Megan Williams has announced that Caitlin Walker has been hired by the program as the Gophers' new assistant coach, effective immediately.
Walker comes to Goucher off a successful run coaching at the high school level in Maryland over the last five years.
For the last two years (2016-17), Walker coached at Fallston High School (her alma mater), where as head coach, she helped the field hockey team reach the 1A State Semi-Finals in 2017, and the 2A Regional Finals in 2016.
From 2012 through 2014, Walker was an assistant at C. Milton Wright High School, helping the team win their first 3A Maryland State Championship in field hockey in 2013.
Walker entered the coaching ranks from a standout playing career at Salisbury University from 2008 through 2011. There, she earned four letters and was a four-year starter, helping the Seagulls capture the 2009 NCAA Division III National Championship and three Capital Athletic Conference titles.
While at Salisbury, Walker earned All-CAC second team honors twice, was an All-Region selection, and was named to the 2009 All-NCAA Tournament Team. She also served as team captain her senior season and was named to the CAC All-Academic Team twice throughout her career. In all, Walker scored 30 goals in four seasons at Salisbury, adding 20 assists for a career point total of 80.
At Goucher, Walker will pursue a Masters degree in Education, with a specialization in Athletic Program Leadership & Administration.
