Field Hockey Dominates Hood in 8-0 Victory on the Road
FREDERICK, Md. - Senior Jackie Juarez (San Diego, Calif.) had a hat trick to lead the offense, as the Goucher College field hockey team’s defensive unit not only held host Hood scoreless on Tuesday but shotless in an 8-0 win on the road.

FREDERICK, Md. - Senior Jackie Juarez (San Diego, Calif.) had a hat trick to lead the offense, as the Goucher College field hockey team's defensive unit not only held host Hood scoreless on Tuesday but shotless in an 8-0 win on the road.
With the dominating victory, the Gophers moved to 6-4 overall, while Hood fell to 1-7 with the defeat.
In the victory, Goucher scored four goals in each half, with Juarez tallying one score in the first half (the first goal of the match in the third minute) and two more in the second half to be the leading goal scorer in the contest for the Gophers.
Elsewhere, five different Gophers scored the other goals in the win - sophomore Caroline Doll (York, Pa.), senior Maya Belin (Baltimore, Md.), senior Danielle Nixon (East Brunswick, N.J.), sophomore Michaela Nelson (Frederick, Md.) and junior Valerie Mendoza (San Diego, Calif.).
Notching assists in the win for the Gophers were junior Meghan Oakes (Boothbay, Maine), Belin, and junior Madison Resolme (San Diego, Calif.).
On the night, Goucher was in total control from the opening whistle on both ends of the field, eventually outshooting Hood by a whopping 42-0 margin. The Gophers also held a 9-0 advantage on penalty corners, as well.
The Goucher College field hockey team returns to action on Saturday, as they host Juniata in a Landmark Conference match at Beldon Field beginning at 1 p.m.
