WASHINGTON, D.C. - Host Catholic scored a pair of goals in each half, and kept the visiting Goucher College field hockey team off the scoreboard all match, as they collected a 4-0 win over the Gophers on Wednesday night in Landmark Conference action.
With the defeat, Goucher fell to 6-6 overall and 1-3 in the Landmark Conference, while Catholic improved to 5-6 and 4-0 in the Landmark with the win.
Overall, Catholic controlled play throughout against the Gophers, eventually outshooting Goucher by a 31-3 margin in the game. In net, first-year Devin Brashear (Escondido, Calif.) was impressive in a losing effort, making 18 saves on the evening.
The Goucher College field hockey team will return to action on Saturday, as they stay on the road and head to Susquehanna for another Landmark Conference contest. Things get underway at 1 p.m.
