TOWSON, Md. - On a Saturday afternoon Landmark Conference match up, the Goucher College field hockey team defeated visiting Elizabethtown 2-1 at Beldon Field.
As Goucher celebrated their 5 graduating seniors, they took home their second conference win and improved to 7-7 across the season as a whole. With goals by seniors Maya Belin (Baltimore, Md.) and Jackie Juarez (Glendora, Calif.) the Gophers broke a 3-game losing streak and delivered the first Landmark conference loss to Elizabethtown. Freshman goalie Devin Brashear (Escondido, Calif.) racked up 6 saves in the net.
With her goal today, Belin is now tied for 7th in career goals with a total of 25.
The Blue Jays goal was scored by junior Madison Kubik. With this loss, Elizabethtown moves to a 5-1 conference record and 13-3 overall.
The Gophers will be back in action on October 25th for their final home game of the season against Wilson at 7 PM.
