SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Host Susquehanna University jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one quarter and posted a 10-0 Landmark Conference field hockey victory over Goucher College at Sassafras Field Saturday afternoon.
- Annalee Smith put Susquehanna (10-3, 3-0 Landmark) on the board just past the halfway point of the first quarter.
- The River Hawks added goals at 11:12 and 13:06 to make it 3-0.
- Goucher (2-7, 0-2) goalie Julia Foster (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) made a pair of saves in the quarter.
- Smith scored her second goal of the game 3:22 into the second.
- The River Hawks tacked on three more goals in the quarter, with the final one making it 7-0 with 3:44 left before intermission.
- Emma Campitelli and Sarah McAndrews scored for Susquehanna in the quarter.
- Gopher relief keeper Carla Caballero (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) made two saves in the period.
- Caballero finished with seven saves in the final frame.
- The River Hawks closed out the scoring with 8:21 left with Smith completing a hat trick.
- Susquehanna took 35 shots and 19 penalty corners in the contest.
- Foster recorded six saves in the first half before Caballero made nine over the final 30 minutes.
- Goucher is back in action Wednesday, traveling to Catholic for a 6 pm game.
- The Gophers host Juniata on Saturday, October 15 at 1 pm at Beldon Field.
