TOWSON, Md. - Despite a career-high 15 saves from first year goalie Katie Bloom, the Goucher College field hockey team was blanked 3-0 in Landmark Conference action by Susquehanna University Wednesday evening at Beldon Field.
Susquehanna (10-4, 5-0 Landmark) took a 1-0 lead 4;14 into the game on a Katie Bucher goal. The River Hawks made it 2-0 1:34 into the second half as Rebecca Ripans tipped a blast from outside the arc by Emma Campitelli, while Gracie Roush scored five minutes into the fourth quarter to close out the Susquehanna scoring.
Bloom made 15 saves for Goucher (7-6, 1-4), her fifth double-digit save performance of the season. The River Hawks outshot the Gophers 19-1 and took all 14 of the game's penalty corners. Ashley Derrick and Kylie Schmidt split time in goal for Susquehanna and were not forced to make a save en route to the shutout.
Goucher is back in action Saturday when it hosts Drew University in a 1 pm Landmark Conference game at Beldon Field.
