TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Catholic University broke a 0-0 tie with four goals in the third period as it went on to post a 4-0 Landmark Conference field hockey victory over Goucher College at Beldon Field Wednesday evening.
- Goucher (7-8, 1-6 Landmark) goalie Katie Bloom made her first save a minute into the contest.
- Bloom made eight saves in the opening frame but held Catholic (10-4, 6-1) scoreless.
- Kaitlyn Bucci had a shot for the Gophers off a penalty corner with just over five minutes left before halftime.
- Bloom recorded two more saves as the two teams entered intermission deadlocked 0-0.
- Bloom recorded three saves in the first five minutes of the second half.
- Lauren Keast got Catholic on the board in the 38th minute.
- Goucher generated a pair of penalty corners a minute after Keast's goal.
- Mickey Bond made it 2-0 in favor of Catholic with just under six minutes left in the third.
- Just under two minutes later a Nikki Micciche goal made it 3-0, and Ashley Martin made it 4-0 with 1:38 left in the third.
