Gophers Extend Win Streak to Five, Longest Since 2015

TOWSON, Md. - Senior Kaitlyn Bucci scored two goals for the Goucher College field hockey team as the Gophers extended their win streak to five in a 2-0 victory against Marian University (Wis.) Saturday morning at Beldon Field.
- Marian (3-2) outshot the Gophers (5-1) 6-3 in the opening frame.
- Goucher goalie Katie Bloom and Sabre netminder Emilee Clarey each made three saves.
- Goucher scored their first goal of the game 4:17 into the second quarter as Bucci put home a rebound of her initial shot that was stopped by Clarey.
- The Gophers outshot Marian 7-0 in the second stanza and led 1-0 at the break.
- The Gophers put a pair of shots on goal in the third and had three shots total.
- Bucci had all three Gopher shots in the frame.
- Bucci doubled the Goucher advantage 3:34 into the final frame.
- With just under five minutes remaining, the Gophers were awarded a penalty stroke.
- Clarey stopped Bucci's stroke attempt.
- Goucher outshot the Sabres 17-6, including 14-0 after the first quarter.
- Clarey, totaled 13 saves in the game, while Bloom made three saves.
- The hosts took 12 penalty corners to the Sabres one.
- Bucci led the Gophers with 12 shots, while Madison Usher and Annie Bennett had two apiece.
- The Gophers extended their win streak to five games, their longest since a seven-game win streak during the 2015 season.
