Early Run Leads to Susquehanna Victory over Gophers
SELINSGROVE, Pa. — A run of 12 consecutive points, started by three straight 3-point shots, gave 15th-ranked Susquehanna the lead it needed to cruise to a 98-67 Landmark Conference victory over Goucher tonight.

After Chris Outing (New Windsor, N.Y./James I. O'Neill) knocked down a jumper to take a 4-3 lead early in the contest, the Crusaders got a 3-pointer by Josh Miller which started the run of points for the home team. With 14:24 on the clock, the Gophers (6-11, 2-6 Landmark) were staring at a 15-4 deficit.
The potent offense of Susquehanna continued to extend its lead in the opening half as the team shot 17-of-33 (51.5%) from the field with five of the baskets coming beyond the arc. The Crusaders (16-1, 7-1 Landmark) held a 42-26 advantage heading into halftime.
Kevin Miles (District Heights, Md./Gwynn Park) scored the first bucket of the second half to cut Susquehanna's lead to 16 points. Though, that was the closest the Blue and Gold would get for the rest of the game.
Miller registered a double-double for Susquehanna with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Aside from Miller, three other players scored double-digit points; Brandon Hedley (17), Steven Weidlich (13) and Dan Weiss (10).
Tre Galloway III (Fort Washington, Md./Paint Branch) and Miles led the Gophers with 13 points apiece. Norman Allen II (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist) added 11 points in the loss.
