Four Gophers Hit Double-Digits in 64-60 Loss

TOWSON, MD – Sophomore Uvan Stewart scored a career-high 11 points in a 64-60 loss to Drew University at home on Saturday.
Senior Tre Galloway III led Goucher (4-15, Landmark 1-7) scorers with 17 points while fellow seniors Jesse Mondry and Chris Outing scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. Outing pulled in a team-high nine rebounds and dished out five assists along with Galloway.
The Rangers were led by Nate Aldrich with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the game. Riley Collins and Yonathan Napoleon chipped in with 16 and 14 points, respectively.
How It Happened:
- Goucher opened the game on a 9-0 run before relinquishing the lead 26-23 with 5:41 to go in the first half.
- The remaining minutes were a firefight, with both teams struggling to hold onto a lead.
- The Rangers carried a 36-33 lead into the intermission.
- The Gophers overtook the lead with 10:06 to go in the game on a Mondry, old-school three-point play. However, less than a minute later, Drew took the lead back on back-to-back free throws by Chatham Studer.
- With 5:37 remaining, the game was knotted up before the Rangers created a cushion. Collins drained a three-pointer, increasing the lead 61-55 with 1:07 to go.
- Drew would maintain the lead into the final buzzer, 64-60.
- Goucher shot 41.2% (21-of-51) from the field while Drew hit 33.8% (22-of-65) of their shots.
Coach's Thoughts:
- "I thought we had some opportunities that we didn't take advantage of in the second half. Our effort was very good again, but we gave them too many points on the offensive glass."
