Men’s Basketball Falls to Wilson in Non-Conference Matchup
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - On Saturday the 2018-19 men’s basketball team traveled to Pennsylvania to take on the Wilson College Phoenix in a non-conference contest. After two halves of play, the Gophers lost with a final score of 89-69.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - On Saturday the 2018-19 men's basketball team traveled to Pennsylvania to take on the Wilson College Phoenix in a non-conference contest. After two halves of play, the Gophers lost with a final score of 89-69.
At the end of the first half the Gophers were trailing by twelve (30-42), and though they came back strong for half two, it was not enough to overtake the Phoenix.
Leading the Gophers with a total of 19 points was junior Dwyane Morton (Waynesville, Mo.). Morton went 3-3 on three-point attempts and 7-13 in field goals. Junior Pat Goralski (Pasadena, Md.) racked up 13 points that included one 3-pointer and six field goals.
The Gophers ended the contest with 42.2% on field goals, 33.3% on three-pointers, and 83.3% from the line. Goucher tallied a total of 23 rebounds and scored a total of 29 points in the paint. Sophomore Nate Kanuit (Arlington, Va.) led the team with nine rebounds - 4 of which were defensive.
The Gophers will be back in action on Sunday, November 11th, for an exhibition game at VMI at 1 PM.
