TOWSON, Md. - After 40 minutes of deadlocked play, the Goucher Gophers managed to pull away from Cairn and take the win with a final score of 71-70.
Senior Gabe Ceribelli (Monkton, Md.) played his best game of the season and led all scorers with a total of 22 points. Ceribelli went 5-8 beyond the arc and put up 5-8 from the line. Ceribelli also tied for most rebounds with six and racked up a team-high 5 assists. Junior Dwayne Morton (Waynesville, Mo.) was hot on Ceribelli's heels, putting up 21 points on the day, his second-highest of the season. Morton sunk two 3-pointers, 6 additional field goals, and went 3-6 from the line.
Sophomore Timmy O'Farrell (Davidsonville, Md.) had three clutch 3-pointers in the first half, which ultimately helped Goucher nab the win by just one point.
The Gophers will be back in action for another home contest on Tuesday, December 18th at 5:30 PM when they take on Stevenson University.
