TOWSON, Md. - In their first Landmark Conference contest at home, Goucher fell to Susquehanna by 26 points despite remaining in striking distance at the end of the first half.
Much like McDaniel on January 3, Susquehanna scored an unprecedented number of three-pointers in the first half of the contest. Despite a manageable deficit at the end of the first half, the Gophers were unable to close the gap and catch up to the River Hawks.
Juniors Dwayne Morton (Waynesville, Mo.) and Pat Goralski (Pasadena, Md.) led the team in points with 18 and 16, respectively. Morton and Goralski also tied the top spot with number of assists (3) and number of rebounds (7). Morton also had the most steals and three-pointers for Goucher throughout the contest, tallying 3 steals and 2 three-pointers. With his 16 points scored tonight, Pat Goralski reached a new season-high.
Sophomore Timmy O'Farrell (Davidsonville, Md.) extended his three-point streak into a seventh game. Senior Gabe Ceribelli (Monkton, Md.) was kept quiet by the River Hawks defense in the match but still managed to rack up four points by going 4-4 from the line.
The Gophers will be back in action on January 9 as they travel to Elizabethtown for another Landmark Conference contest at 7 PM.
