Morton Drops Career-High 31 Points For Goucher Men's Basketball Against Drew
BALTIMORE, Md. – Dwayne Morton (Waynesville, Mo./Waynesville) fueled a Goucher College 23-11 run in the second half with 15 points to tie the game against Drew University at 57 and the junior finished with a career-high 31 points in the game, but the Rangers closed the game by scoring 16 of the final 25 points to earn a 73-66 decision in Landmark Conference men's basketball action on Saturday.
Morton shot 11-for-17 from the floor, 3 of 6 from behind the arc and 6 of 6 from the free throw line to notch the most points in a game since Elliott Wiley posted 26 points against Catholic on Jan. 14, 2018 and the first 30-point performance since Kevin Miles had 33 points against Elizabethtown on Feb. 6, 2016. The junior has reached double figures in points in four-straight games, 8 of 10 and 15 times this season while posting his fourth 20-point or more outburst. Morton added seven rebounds and four assists on the afternoon. It was the seventh time this season he has hauled in at least five rebounds. The junior leads the team with 14.3 points per game.
Pat Goralski (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) added 11 points. The junior has posted double figures in points in back-to-back games, two of the last three and 10 times this season.
