BALTIMORE, Md. – Dwayne Morton (Baltimore, Md./Waynesville [Mo.]), a member of the Goucher College men's basketball team, has been named the Ruth Baird Thompson '31 Male Award winner.
The Ruth Baird Thompson '31 Award was established in 2002 and presented annually to one or more students who have demonstrated academic excellence and sportsmanship in an athletic endeavor, through their participation in Goucher's sports, dance and/or equestrian programs.
"Dwayne's success of achieving over 1,000 points on the court over your four-year career as well as maintaining a 3.2 grade point average shows your true reflection of your commitment to be a Goucher student-athlete," said head coach Tom Rose.

On the court, he joined some of the Goucher hardwood greats when he scored his 1,000th career point against Susquehanna on February 1 to become the 10th player in program history to reach the milestone and the first player in nearly 13 years.
