Four Reach Double Figures in Setback at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Visiting Goucher College placed four players in double figures, but Ursinus College recorded a 93-81 non-conference men's basketball victory over the Gophers Monday evening at Helferrich Hall.
- A 6-0 Ursinus (4-2) spurt put the Bears in front 19-12 just under six minutes in.
- Goucher (1-6) fell behind 24-14 before an 11-4 run capped by a Can Dalli basket made it 28-25 with 10:52 on the clock.
- The Bears scored the game's next six points to up their lead to nine, 34-25.
- A Darrell Green three 2:45 before halftime pulled the Gophers within three, 41-38.
- Ursinus carried a 47-39 lead into intermission.
- Goucher cut the lead to six three times in the first three minutes of the second stanza.
- After going behind by as many as a dozen, an 8-0 Gopher run capped by a Jon Perry basket made it a 65-61 game with just over 10 minutes left.
- Ursinus held Goucher scoreless for four minutes and scored 15 straight points to open up an 80-61 lead with 6:19 to go.
- The hosts took their largest lead 85-64, with just under four minutes remaining.
- The Gophers closed the game on a 17-8 run.
- Jadyss Fifer led Goucher with 14 points.
- Jaden Workman and Dalli each finished with 13 points, with Workman grabbing five rebounds.
- Perry was 5-9 from the floor and registered 12 points and seven rebounds.
- Brian Griffin contributed nine points off the bench.
- Goucher shot 41.8% overall, was 10-35 behind the arc and 15-24 at the free throw line.
- The Bears shot 62% in the first half and 59% for the game while going 4-14 from three and 17-24 at the charity stripe.
- Both teams grabbed 37 rebounds.
- Goucher returns home and returns to Landmark Conference play Wednesday, hosting Moravian at 7 pm at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
